WHAT TO EXPECT

If you haven't had any coaching or mentoring before it is understandable that you may be feeling apprehensive and unsure of what to expect, however there is nothing to feel anxious about. Hannah describes coaching as a guided conversation after which you will feel excited, motivated and empowered. It is important that you feel comfortable with your coach so that you are able to discuss matters openly; a coach should make you feel supported and at ease. Ahead of committing to coaching with Hannah you will have the opportunity to have a 15 minute introductory call during which Hannah will ask you questions in order to gain an overall understanding of what you wish to achieve through working with her. It is important that both parties feel that Hannah is the right Coach for you.

 

If you decide that you wish to work with Hannah then you can agree a coaching schedule. Either weekly or fortnightly sessions are recommended, depending on your goals and how much support you feel you will need. In your first coaching session your goals will be established and a time-frame by which you will aim to achieve them will be agreed. Your goal(s) will be broken down and a phased approach for you to complete each individual step/milestone will be agreed. You will go away from each session with tools and techniques to achieve what has been discussed. During each session your progress since the previous session will be reviewed against the overall plan.

FAQs
GENERAL COACHING

What if something happens and I want to talk about something which isn’t in the plan? 

Life very often doesn’t go according to plan, things crop up. If you want to discuss something which isn’t in the plan, then that is absolutely fine, your coaching sessions are yours and plans are always flexible to accommodate your needs. 

 

How many sessions will I need? 

Everyone is different and has different needs which is why Hannah offers a coaching approach which is tailored to the individual. Different types of coaching often have differing timelines. For instance, Stress Management Coaching should not be considered a long term relationship as you will learn tools to take away and use going forward. Some clients like to book in for 'maintenance' sessions rather than stopping completely however. Life Coaching may be a longer term relationship because once you have achieved one goal, you may want to start working on another.

Do you have set programme? 

I offer different types of coaching and therefore I do not have a set programme. Coaching is designed to the individual and their specific needs.

Are our sessions confidential? 

Yes. Everything discussed during our coaching sessions is confidential for both parties. Two exceptions to this are: 1) If Hannah believes that a client’s health or life is at risk 2) the discussion of case studies within a learning or supervisory setting (in this instance all information is anonymised and non-identifying)

 

Will coaching help with my relationships? 

Whilst Hannah is not a relationship counsellor, stress management can have a hugely beneficial effect on someone’s relationships with others. When we are stressed we can often take how we are feeling out on others, usually those closed to us, and how we behave towards other people can change. By finding balance in yourself you can bring balance and renewed energy to your relationships with others. 

OUTDOOR COACHING

Does all coaching take place outdoors?

Coaching doesn't have to be outdoors though for those wanting help with stress management and who are local to Oundle it is recommended when the weather is fine. Hannah also offers online coaching.

What happens if it’s raining? 

Hannah will have alternative options for when the weather isn’t conducive for outdoor coaching and she will discuss those options with you.

 

Can I bring my dog? 

As a dog lover and someone who is aware of the calming influence that dogs can have on us, Hannah is more than happy if you wish to bring your dog. As your coaching session is about you, Hannah recommends only bringing solo dogs who are calm and settle easily and who won’t be a distraction. Out of courtesy, if you would like to bring your furry friend with you, please let Hannah know beforehand. 

STRESS MANAGEMENT COACHING

 

What is holistic stress management coaching? 

Holistic means 'whole'. Hannah approaches stress management holistically meaning that her coaching looks at all relevant aspects of lifestyle and wellbeing which can help with building resilience and creating healthy habits. 

When is the right time to start working with a stress management coach?

There is no right or wrong time to start stress management coaching. Some people might want to build their resilience ahead of starting a new job or knowing that they have a big life event coming up. Other clients ask for help when stress has already become overwhelming. 

Can I work with a stress management coach as well as working with a therapist or counsellor? 

Yes, stress management coaching can be undertaken concurrently with other coaching or talking therapies. Please let your therapist or counsellor know that you are working with a stress management coach. 

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION

What if I can’t make my scheduled session? 

Hannah will always be was flexible as possible. If you are unable to attend your session and need to rearrange your time, please let Hannah know as soon as possible. Hannah asks for 48 hours notice or a cancellation fee may be charged. 

 

How do I pay for my Coaching sessions? 

When you book your session Hannah will send you a payment link to pay for your session. If you haven’t pre-paid for your session, you may pay by phone with a QR code if attending in person coaching. If you are booking a block of 6 hour sessions at the discounted rate, payment should be made in advance at the point of booking via the payment link sent to you.
