Welcome to Simple Life Coaching; stress management and relaxation coaching which promotes wellbeing.
The aim of this blog is to provide helpful information for those suffering with, or wanting to prevent, stress and who want to learn to relax more easily.
I chose ‘Simple Life’ as a name for my business because I fundamentally believe that leading a more simple life can help us to find calm in an ever increasingly crazy world.
I was brought up on a farm in a quiet rural area. My childhood memories are of being outside making mud pies, ‘foraging’ for something to eat in the vegetable garden before anyone else had woken up, taking teas up to the fields everyday during harvest and picking blackberries afterwards. I spent most of my spare time (i.e. when I wasn’t at school) with granny. She taught me to knit and to make cakes and yorkshire pudding. It was a time before mobile phones and the internet; before Instagram, Facebook and Tik-Tok. A time before convenience and fast food became the nation’s staple diet. And before everyone spent all day everyday rushing around.
We are all so busy and in such a rush all the time. Today’s world can be very overwhelming and the human body wasn’t designed to cope with the demands of modern life. Our busy lifestyles have seen us constantly looking for quicker and easier ways to do everything. We drive everywhere and we can get anything delivered. If we can’t get something delivered next day then we feel inconvenienced. We have lost the ability to be patient. We are told that we should be able to have anything we want, whenever we want it. So why are our stress levels at an all time high?
We can experience stress or pressure in or outside of the workplace. The cost of living crisis, climate change, social care pressures, physical ill-health and parenting pressures are all taking a toll on us. According to the charity Mental Health UK, 1 in 4 adults feel unable to cope with the pressure and stress in their lives, while 20% of workers needed to take time off work in the last year because of pressure or stress.
Simple Life Coaching is stress management and relaxation coaching which promotes wellbeing. Having experienced burnout myself, I now help others to deal with stress. I believe in a holistic approach to managing stress; we look at your work/life balance, lifestyle choices, interests, thoughts and beliefs. We look at how you can simplify life to get more out of it and start to thrive again. Everyone is unique and each coaching programme is tailored to the individual.
